Hello I’m Teresa Patterson. I’m a licensed clinical social worker. I have 30 years of experience working with teenagers and young adults in various settings. I’m skilled in finding solutions to tough problems through the use of humor, empathy and building a solid “tool kit” while providing a safe and caring environment, Over the years, it’s been my passion to help teens and their families recover from a whole range of things that seemed insurmountable. Things like: problems with friends; anxiety and depression, attention problems; school; substance use; health challenges and trauma. I always follow the golden rule and never give up, and seek to find connection in the vulnerability we all share.
I have a passion for helping teens and young adults build steps to a bright future through job or college planning. I truly believe there’s a path for everyone to a rewarding life. I work within a solution-focused therapy modality, but am familiar and comfortable with many different approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and attachment theory systems. We’re always going to find our way and build from the things unique about you.
I have a Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work from Western Michigan University, and a Bachelors from Michigan State University. I am a fully licensed LMSW through the State of Michigan with over 20 years of practice as a school social worker in a high school setting.
